Account Manager

Most agencies ask their client-facing people to do two jobs at once: keep the client happy, and execute and manage the work. Those two jobs pull in opposite directions, and the relationship is usually what gives.

We have separated them. Our Strategists own the thinking. Our Marketing Account Coordinators own coordination and execution. The Account Manager owns the relationship and the commercial outcome, and nothing else.

You are the voice of AirVu to the client, and the voice of the client inside AirVu. If the client stays, trusts us and grows, that is on you.

What you will own

  • Every client conversation. You lead the weekly calls, present the updates, and write the agenda, the notes and the recap yourself, because you were in the room and heard the nuance.

  • Scope, budget and renewals across your portfolio, and the change request when the line moves.

  • Growth inside the account. Farm first, hunt always. If we built the website, can we add SEO. If we run social, is there a video retainer.

  • The business priorities every internal team works to, so the strategy and the optimisation are anchored to what actually matters to the client.

  • The brief. New work is entered by you, capturing what the client actually wants. You have the context and you hold the budget, so you can write it faster than you could explain it to someone else.

  • Knowing the numbers. You should never see a figure for the first time on a client call. The Strategist writes the insight. You supply the goals it is measured against, pressure-test whether the argument will land, and present it.

What you will not own

  • Strategy. That sits with the Strategist. You have to believe it and be able to defend it. You do not have to write it.

  • Delivery and coordination. Boards, tasks, sprint plans and the operational record sit with the Marketing Account Coordinator.

  • Line-by-line QA. Craft sits with the specialist leads. You review quality at a macro level, and go deep only where a client issue demands it.

You are also not a gate. If you have time to weigh in on a piece of work, weigh in. If you do not, it goes out anyway. Work does not stop waiting for you.

Who this suits

You have run client relationships in an agency or a comparable service business, and you have carried commercial responsibility for them. You are comfortable being the person who says the awkward thing first, early and with a recommendation attached. You can hold a commercial line without damaging a relationship. You are fluent enough in marketing performance to challenge a report without needing to build it. You write clearly and quickly, because a large part of this job is a brief or a recap that leaves no room for interpretation.

And you are genuinely happy not owning delivery. If your instinct is to grab the work and do it yourself, this seat will frustrate you.
